COORDINARE - South Eastern NSW Primary Health Network (PHN), is providing support and engagement for pharmacists accessing My Health Record in community pharmacy settings.
COORDINARE’s Pharmacy Liaison Officer, Jannat Noor-e, is also a community pharmacist and together with a team of Digital Health Officers have visited most of the community pharmacies across the South Eastern NSW region.
They have been providing information, assisting pharmacies to register to the My Health Record system and promoting ‘meaningful use’ of this tool.
Upcoming evening workshops throughout the region will introduce the My Health Record system and explore its features and functionalities, and benefits and uses, as they relate to pharmacy practice. The workshop will prepare participants to engage with the system and integrate it with their clinical workflow.

It is thought that up to a staggering 90% of people aren’t using their asthma devices properly, meaning they aren’t getting the amount of medication they need. This leads to a range of issues including taking their puffer more than they should, less control over their condition and increased visits to their GP or hospital.
To tackle this complex issue Asthma Foundation NSW is distributing a range of materials regarding asthma and inhaler technique to pharmacies.
We believe that this combined with advice from pharmacists will help to improve people’s inhaler technique and lead to better health outcomes.
Pharmacists are an ideal partner in this campaign as not only do they have the expertise on how medications work but they also have the opportunity to interact with customers as they obtain their asthma medications.
Pharmacies can register for a free pack via our website here:
